Cantere was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in April after she pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.

A 35-year-old Mountain View man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for peddling drugs.

Hilo Circuit Judge Greg Nakamura rejected a request for probation by David Chong Fook Leong, who, according to prosecutors, has three prior felony convictions.

Leong pleaded no contest in November to attempted second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The police Ice Task Force arrested Leong and 41-year-old Ann Marie Cantere on Feb. 2, 2010, in the Home Depot parking lot in Hilo. Prosecutors say the pair had almost an ounce of methamphetamine, numerous empty re-sealable packets and $2,593 when they were nabbed.
