Keiki to sing alphabet songs
Kindergarten and first-grade students at Hawaii Preparatory Academy will present Jill Gallina’s “A-Z Does It” at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10.
The musical performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Gates Performing Arts Center at the school’s Upper Campus.
HPA’s youngest thespians sing, dance, and share what they have learned about the letters of the alphabet and the Hawaiian alphabet.
There is a consonant review and lesson on the importance of lower and upper case letters and vowels, “The Short and Long of It.”
The performance, directed by HPA music teacher Georgia Polakova, is presented in conjunction with the students’ classroom curriculum.

Aloha Theater to show ‘Oklahoma’
David Parsons and Sandra Huitt have been cast as the leads in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s landmark Broadway musical “Oklahoma!” for the next production of the Aloha Performing Arts Company.
Parsons, a recent Yale graduate and APAC newcomer, plays lovesick cowboy Curly McLain and Huitt, recently seen as a Phantom in “The Rocky Horror Show,” portrays Curly’s love interest, Laurey Williams.
Production dates for “Oklahoma!” are Feb. 17 through March 11, with Friday and Saturday night shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.

Madonna drops hints about show
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Madonna gave few details about her Superbowl halftime performance at a press conference Thursday.
She said the show is being “imagined” by Cirque du Soleil and may feature rapper Nicki Minaj, who is featured on Madonna’s new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’.”
“”I really don’t want to blow the surprises,” said Madonna, who only promised to sing three old songs and one new one. “I want people to be knocked off their feet.”
