Granville Yoshina, 70, of Placentia, Calif., died Jan. 4 at University of California at Irvine Medical Center. Born in Kealakekua, he was a retired La Habra City School District science teacher. Services held. Survived by his wife, Alice Yoshina of Placentia, Calif.; son, Garrett Yoshina of Placentia, Calif.; daughter, Briana Yoshina of San Diego; brothers, Nelson (Karen) Yoshina of Maui and Dwayne Yoshina of Hilo; sister, Mary Frances (Keith) Higuchi of Oahu. Bruce “Tony” Adams, 59, of Kurtistown died Jan. 16 at home. Born in Portales, N.M., he was a bookkeeper/accountant. Private services will be held at a later date. Survived by his mother, Lanna Weiland of Atkins, Ark.; sisters, Sharron Adams Byrd of Bentonville, Ark., and Sharlene Adams Haering of Milford, Conn.; one niece; and one nephew. Kelly Jo Fisher, 46, of Waikoloa died Jan. 23 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Deadwood, S.D., she worked as a bartender/server. Friends may call 4-5 p.m. Wednesday at Hapuna Beach. Survived by her husband, Gary D. Fisher of Waikoloa; son, Brandon Fisher of Waikoloa; daughter, Abbie Fisher of Waikoloa; mother, Kay Jung of Waimea; brother, Todd (Peggy) Jung of Mississippi; sisters, Tina Jung of Illinois and Pam Luepkes of Waimea; and numerous nieces and nephews. David Donald Juna, 1 month, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 30 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 11 at the Chapel at Palm Terrace in Kailua-Kona; 1:30 p.m. graveside services at the Hawi County Cemetery. Richard “Ricky” John Tavares Jr., 70, of Waimea died Jan. 28 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a cowboy for Parker Ranch and a former heavy-equipment operator.
