The University of Hawaii at Hilo, in cooperation with American Universities International Programs, is offering a study abroad opportunity in Australia, May 22-June 16.

The experiential program led by UH-Hilo Biology Professor William Mautz and local field experts will explore Australia’s dynamic cultures as they study the relationship between the people and their natural environment by traveling extensively throughout the region.

Program activities include snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, experiencing Aboriginal bush life, and hiking tropical rainforests.

Students will spend 70 percent of their time visiting the national parks, forests, wildlife reserves, coastlines, and islands of South Queensland under the guidance of knowledgeable field professionals.
