Born in Haydenville, Mass., he was a retired tool and die maker, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3830; member of the American Legion Post 3; and a member of both the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
