STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The price of a single-day lift ticket at Steamboat Ski Area has topped $100.
The Steamboat Pilot reports that as of Friday, skiers and riders who walk up to the ticket window for a single-day adult lift ticket will have to pay $105. That’s $6 more than the previous price.

Kentucky Noah’s Ark attraction buys land
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The group building a Noah’s Ark-themed tourism attraction in northern Kentucky says it has purchased the final tract of land for the project but that a sluggish economy has hurt fundraising and the park is still years away from being built.
The Christian ministry Answers in Genesis is directing the construction of the 500-foot ark that is the first phase of the proposed $150 million Ark Encounter. The group also built the popular Creation Museum near Cincinnati.
The project manager says the last 556-acre tract is in hand. The entire site is 800 acres set on rolling farmland.
Answers in Genesis also is asking followers for about $24 million in donations to help build the massive ark. Organizers say about $5 million has been raised so far and that fundraising has slowed.
MGM Resorts rewards non-gambling tourists
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The only way to get treated as a high roller in most casinos is by gambling big.
But MGM Resorts International has expanded its loyalty program and a related website to reward customers for their spending on restaurants, shows and other items as well.
The Las Vegas-based company hopes to keep customers from hopping to other resorts it doesn’t own.
At the enhanced “M life” website, MGM Resorts visitors can plan their trips and track the points they earn at 13 of the company’s casino-resorts. Ten of the resorts are in Sin City, and the other three are in Mississippi and Michigan.
Niagara tightrope walk gets approval
NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario (AP) — Daredevil Nik Wallenda is set to walk an 1,800-foot tightrope across Niagara Falls this summer.
The Canadian Parks Commission approved the stunt Wednesday, removing the final obstacle after New York changed state law in September to allow it.
Wallenda plans to install the rope between American and Canadian parkland and walk from one country to the other. The drop will be 70 feet at its highest, with a dip that Wallenda will walk down into the mist from the gorge.
The Canadian parks officials had initially refused to allow the stunt. But Wallenda got the backing of the Ontario Tourism minister, who helped convince them to reverse course.
Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of the Flying Wallendas.
