No BIIF players were named to the Division I all-tournament team.

Honokaa senior midfielder Robert Connors didn’t need to score a lot to be viewed as an outstanding player at the Division II state soccer tournament.

Connors scored one goal, in the Dragon’s 5-1 victory over Mid-Pacific in the semifinals. He didn’t score, but provided steady ball-handling and controlled the tempo in Honokaa’s 1-0 win over Kapaa for the the Dragons’ second straight championship.

In a vote by the Hawaii High School Athletic Association staff, in consultation with coaches, Connors was named the Most Outstanding Player on Monday.

Other Big Island Interscholastic Federation players named to the Division II all-tournament team were Christian Liberty forward Nakaya Kerr, who led the Canefire to third place, Makua Lani forward Elijah Lingenfelder, Honokaa forward Justin Warren, Honokaa midfielder Chayce Moniz, and Honokaa defender Alden Aguirre.

Last season, Connors was named the BIIF Player of the Year in the West division, despite not leading the league in goals scored. This season, the league played a round-robin format.

No BIIF players were named to the Division I all-tournament team.
