The University of Hawaii at Hilo finished 6th at the St. Edward’s Invitational on Tuesday in Austin, Texas.

The two-day, women’s collegiate golf tournament was played at the Grey Rock Golf Course. The Vulcans turned in a 328 final round to finish the two-round event at 653.

Tarleton State claimed the tourney title with a 606 total, followed by St. Edward’s in second place at 638. Tied for third place at 650 were Lubbock Christian, Sonoma State and Newman. In seventh place was Cameron (659), followed by West Texas A&M (660), Southwest Oklahoma State (665), Angelo State and Arkansas-Fort Smith at 670, Cal State East Bay (671), Incarnate Word (685), St. Mary’s-Texas (687) and Henderson State (710).

Kristen Sawada (80-82) tied for 17th place with a 162 to lead the Vulcans. Teammates Dayna Bersamin (77-87) and Kacie Harada (85-79) were two strokes back at 164 and tied for 24th place. Completing the Vulcan squad were Erika Morihiro (T31, 84-82—166) and Nyssa Aoki (T46, 84-85—169).
