On April 21, community members from all over the island will walk in the first ever Big Island AIDS Walk. Volunteering to help either before or on the day of the event will play an integral role in the event’s success.
Volunteers are needed to help with office tasks and materials distribution as well as course marshals, course cheerleaders, event set up and breakdown. To volunteer please contact Hawaii Island HIV/AIDS Foundation Walk Coordinator Cindy Medeiros by phone at 982-8800 or via email cindy@hihaf.org.
The AIDS Walk on April 21 will be a 2-mile walk around Liliuokalani Park. There will be food and awards for participants including best costume and best team banner.
Walk registration opens at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 amm.
