More than 150 students from Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Kealakehe Intermediate School, and Waikoloa School will perform in the 19th annual Ukulele Festival at Hawaii Preparatory Academy at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 10. The festival, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Gates Performing Arts Center, located at HPA’s Upper Campus.

The students are directed by Georgia Polakova, Dagan Bernstein, and Lynn Kakugawa (HPA); Gloria Juan Tapa’atoutai (Kealakehe), and Lani Opunui (Waikoloa).

This year’s festival will feature music and dance from the wonderful world of Disney, going back to the 1930s. Musical selections include “When You Wish Upon A Star,” “Zippity Doo Dah,” “The Ballad of Davy Crockett,” “Heigh Ho,” and “The Mickey Mouse Club March.” Other highlights include favorite selections from Disney movies, including “Dumbo,” “Fantasia,” “Lilo and Stitch,” “The Muppets,” “101 Dalmations,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “High School Musical,” and “The Lion King.”
