Ichiro “Rick” Awa, 79, of Hilo died March 1 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired U.S. Army sergeant and a retired mechanic for Jack’s Tours. Graveside committal service and burial 9 a.m. Friday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire; no flowers. Adelaide “Addie” Medeiros Costa-Strunk, 79, of Hilo died Feb. 27 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired housekeeper and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Marcos Respicio Guerrero, 90, of Honokaa, died Feb. 8 at home. Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a self-employed farmer and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Fumie Nakamichi, 100, of Hilo died Feb. 29 at her residence. Born in Kaiwiki, she was a homemaker and retired cook at the Hilo Lanes Restaurant and a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Fujinkai. Born in Honaunau, she was a retired cashier at KTA Super Stores in Kailua-Kona, co-owner of the former Holualoa Super Market and worked at other retailers. Services held. Cecilia “Aunty Ceci” May Hi‘iakaikapoliopele Polikapu-Samson, 64, of Keaukaha died Feb. 16 at Hilo Medical Center.
