‘Most Wanted’ episode to air
The most recent edition of the Crime Stoppers television program “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” highlights three people wanted on warrants and also for questioning in other cases.
The new episode began airing on March 16. In it, police ask for the public’s help in locating 58-year-old Sage Million of Ainaloa, who is wanted for an outstanding bench warrant and for questioning in connection with a sexual assault of a minor. He is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-7, 140 pounds with brown eyes and short balding brown hair.
The television program also asks for help in locating 20-year-old Shayna Michele Piilani Pili, also known as Michele Pili, of Keaau. She is wanted on a bench warrant and for questioning in connection with an unrelated burglary investigation. She is described as part Hawaiian, approximately 5-foot-5, about 100 pounds, with straight brown hair and brown eyes.
“Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” is a project of Crime Stoppers Hilo, Inc., which is a partnership of the business community, the media and the police. It was inspired by the national TV show, “America’s Most Wanted.” The program airs on Na Leo O Hawaii Community Television Channel 54 on Sundays at 5 p.m. and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. It also airs intermittently on Channel 53.
Hilo playground is being repaired
The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation has announced the closure of portions of Lincoln Park in downtown Hilo.
Several holes have developed in the rubberized surface of the Dr. Ruth E. Oda Playground in the park, Deputy Director Clayton Honma said in announcing the temporary closure to undertake emergency repairs.
Parks maintenance staff has performed inspections that determined the fall zones in certain areas of the playground are unsafe due to the weakened surface.
The other areas of Lincoln Park remain open for park users.
