Police arrest 3-time escapee
HONOLULU (AP) — A 34-year-old man police say escaped from officers three times in less than two weeks is behind bars again.
Kenneth Wong was taken into custody around 9 a.m. Friday after police saw him sitting in his girlfriend’s recently-purchased vehicle at her home.
Police say Wong tried to escape again by driving off, nearly hitting two officers. When he drove the car into a ditch, officers arrested Wong after a brief scuffle. Police say because Wong tried to hit the officers, he was booked on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder and resisting arrest.
Police say Wong jumped from a three-story building on March 6 while trying to escape police, then fled from a hospital while being treated for injuries from the jump. On March 3, police say Wong escaped arrest while driving a stolen van.
