The Lifelong Singer, a study and performance program for vocalists of all abilities, will be held June 26-29 at Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea.

Robin Buck, professor of vocal arts at University of California-Irvine and featured performer this spring at Long Beach Opera, will direct the program.

Lifelong Singer is a component of the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, the Big Island’s summer classical music festival now in its eighth season.

“As far as we know, Lifelong Singer is unique and the only program of its kind,” said Artistic Director Val Underwood. “Where else in the world can you find a program where older singers can receive quality instruction from a renowned faculty and have the chance to perform? ‘Lifelong Singer’ is for people who sing just for the love of it.”

Auditions are not necessary. Cost for the four day program is $595. A typical day will consist of a private voice lesson, vocal technique and acting classes, rehearsal or ensemble work and yoga. Lunch is included.

A season ticket good for all paid HPAF concerts (a $140 value) is included.
