Anna Marie Engelson, 97, of Kailua-Kona died March 15 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Newport, R.I., she was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. Saturday for a 10 a.m. service at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 77-165 Lako St., Kailua-Kona. Survived by son, Arvin (Dale) Engelson of Saratoga, Calif.; daughters, Martha Unger of Kailua-Kona, Arva (Marshall) Kyger of Diamondhead, Miss.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Kenkichi “Bilson” Hashimoto, 79, of Pahala died March 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ka‘u, he was a retired truck driver for the former Ka‘u Sugar Co., member of Thy Word Ministries Ka‘u Faith Center, United States Tennis Association, Punaluu Tennis Gang and Umpires Association. Paul Harmer Rosendahl, 68, of Hilo, died March 19 at home. Born in Minneapolis, he was an archaeologist. Services pending. Ted Adams Ross, 88, of Hilo died March 17 at home. Born in Point Richmond, Calif., he was a retired central communications operator for Pacific Telephone; member of Glad Tidings Church, Sonar Men of America, Telephone Pioneers, Big Island Amateur Radio Club and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy during World War II while serving on the USS Muskogee in the battle of Leyte Gulf.
