Longtime coach Gerry Meyer was honored by the Boys and Girls club of the Big Island on March 4 at its opening ceremony.

This year the league has 13 Mustang teams (ages 8-10), eight Bronco teams (11-12) and six Pony teams (13-14). According to a release, Meyer was honored for “countless hours to the PONY program and his voluntary services to pitchers of all ages on the Big Island.”

Keith Akiyama was also acknowledged as the chairperson for the BGCBI Pony League fundraiser.
