Project Hawaii Inc. is hosting its seventh annual free summer camp for homeless and poverty stricken keiki. The camp runs throughout the month of July and provides an invaluable resource of healthy meals, educational programs and a safe environment over their long summer break.

Project Hawaii is a nonprofit run 100 percent by volunteers and solely supported by public donations puts this camps future and success in the hands of our community.

Program directors are seeking groups, clubs, companies help with the food collections needed to feed these 45 hungry children for the three-week program. Volunteers can choose to take a full-day menu, or just one meal.

Project Hawaii adheres to the USDA Summer Nutrition Program guidelines, which are strict to assure the health of our keiki. Full menus outlining all the requirements are provided, like a shopping list to follow.

Some companies, groups, etc have chosen just to “sponsor” the days menu needs with monetary contributions rather than shopping. Either is beneficial and will assure the tummies of the participating keiki will be filled.
