Hawaii Learning Resource announces a free community education workshop, “Summer Activities to Keep Your Child Engaged in School,” from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School Library in Waikoloa.

Jyo Bridgewater, K-8 principal from Assets School, and Judy Stevenson, a Waimea-based academic coach, will present the workshop. Participants will learn how to weave learning into fun family times, activities to help discover and develop a child’s strengths, and opportunities to improve social skills through activities that are both educational and fun.

Hawaii Learning Resource offers free workshops for parents and educators. The workshops offer strategies and interventions to support diverse learners. The Hawaii Hotel Industry Foundation and the Rotary Club of North Hawaii provide grant funding for the community education workshops.

Hawaii Learning Resource is a Waimea based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1998. The mission of Hawaii Learning Resource is to help and empower diverse learners in school and in life.
