Richard William LaForge, 79, of Laupahoehoe died March 24 at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Detroit, Mich., he was a retired college career counselor at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa; Memorial mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Phyllis LaForge of Laupahoehoe; sons, Mark LaForge of Suzuka, Japan, Gregory (Sheri) LaForge of Plainwell, Mich.; brothers, Ed LaForge of Kalamazoo, Mich., Fr. Paul LaForge of Iowa; sister, Mary Skartiaris of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Sadako Okimoto, 95, of Hilo died at home on Thursday, March 15. Born in Honomu, she was a retired secretary with the State of Hawaii Board of Education. She was also a member of Church of the Holy Cross. Private family services held. No flowers, no koden. William “Billy” Farias Victorino, 84, of Hilo died March 25 at his residence in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the Hilo Iron Works company as an iron worker after 37 years of employment. He was a member of the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha, Young Men’s Institute (Y.M.I.), and the Foresters Club. Visitation will be held Saturday at the Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Burial to follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 in Hilo. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Councilman Michael P. (Joycelyn) Victorino of Wailuku, Maui, and William N.
