The Department of Parks & Recreation’s South Hilo District, in partnership with the Hilo Jaycees, Hilo High School Key Club, Waiakea High School Key Club, Hilo and Waiakea Intermediate Builders, Hawaii Police Department, Prosecutor’s Office, Hawaii Fire Department, East Hawaii Kiwanis and Circle K will be staging the 19th annual “Biggest Easter Egg Hunt” on Friday, April 6.
This year’s event will be held at Wong Stadium with 30,000 plastic eggs with prizes for the youngsters to find.
Youths under the age of 3 years can get a Goodie bag after participating in the Easter Craft station in the stadium. Goodie bags are limited to supply on hand. The egg hunt will be done in age groups:
— 3-4 years starting at 9 a.m. Child must be able to walk through egg hunt alone.
— 5- to 6-year-olds starting at 10 a.m.
— 7- to 8-year-olds and 9- to 12-year olds will follow after.
No adults will be allowed on the field.
The public is asked that only bags provided by event host shall be used for the hunt. Baskets and other bags will not be allowed.
Special Events include:
— 7:30-9 a.m.: Keiki I.D.
— 8-10:30 a.m.: Picture-taking with the Easter Bunny
— 8:30-10 a.m.: Easter Crafts
— Starting at 9 a.m.: Contests
— milk drinking, ice cream eating and egg fight for 12 years and under.
