Hilo’s Taisei Negishi, Pono Yanagi and Riku Stanley Omata won or shared age-group titles Sunday at a Hawaii State Junior Golf Association event at Waimea Country Club.
Negishi topped the boys 13-14 division on the junior tour series, closing with an even-par 72 to finish at 2-over 146. Hilo’s Preston-Lee Ching (157) was second, followed by Hilo’s Trevor Hirata (160) and Shon Katahira (161).
In boys 7-10, Omata (152) beat Jacob Kiyoshi Torres of Aiea, Oahu, by four shots. Hilo’s Isaiah Kanno (168) was third while Hilo’s Dysen Park (206) was fifth.
Yanagi (154) tied Honolulu’s Evan Kawai atop the 11-12 division.
In girls 7-10, Honolulu’s Millburn Ho (163) was first, with Hilo’s Kiersten A Saludares (201) runner-up. Hilo’s Lacey Uchida (205) was fourth, while Hilo’s Mika Duldulao (227) and Mari Ebersole (240) were sixth and seventh, respectively.
Allysha Mae Mateo (171) of Mililani, Oahu, took first in girls 11-12. Hilo’s Kaley Ann Saludares (188) was third and Hilo’s Kaelyn Uchida (259) fourth.
