Freshman Erika Morihiro was the only University of Hawaii at Hilo golfer to break 80 at the Sonoma State Invitational, but she fell off the leaderboard Tuesday as the Vulcans finished seventh out of nine teams in Rohnert Park, Calif.

Morihiro was tied for second and one shot off the lead after carding a 2-over 72 in Monday’s first round, but she turned in a team-high 86 in the final round. She still led the Vuls with a tie for 19th at 14-over. Nyssa Aoki (80-81—161) and Kristen Sawada (80-82—162) tied for 22nd and 27th, respectively, for UHH, which finished at 67-over 643. Grand Canyon (624) won the team title by a shot over Sonoma State.

Central Oklahoma’s Chaney Uhles (149) captured medalist honors.

Kacie Harada (83-81—164) tied for 33rd and Dayna Bersamin (83-82) was another shot back in a tie for 35th in a field of 52.
