Jerry Ronald Angelo, 73, of Honokaa died March 29 at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. Born in Haina, he was a retired mason, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, HK Kupuna Softball Team and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Epperson. Friends may call 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa; Memorial mass at 10 a.m. Scattering of ashes will take place at a later date. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by son, Richard (Marilyn) D. Lance Guy Chang, 56, of Kealakekua died April 6 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a plumber for Aoki Plumbing and a former banker with Central Pacific Bank and Honolulu Federal Savings and Loan. He was also a member of Akitsu Kumiai, Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Kona Yamaguchi Kenjin Kai, Kona Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Kona Kumamoto Kenjin Kai, Kona Japanese Civil Association, Kona PONY Baseball Memorial Day Tournament Committee and Konawaena Dugout Club. Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua. Service will begin at 5 p.m. Survived by wife, Claudia Chang of Kealakekua; sons, Jacob (Abby Sugihara) Chang of Honolulu, Beau Chang and Vincent Chang, both of Kealakekua; and brother, Philip (Teresa Owens) Chang of Tacoma, Wash. Emmanuel “Manny” Dela Cruz, 8, of Waimea died Friday, March 23, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, he was a student at Waimea Elementary School. Arnold LeRoy Howard, 87, of Punalu‘u, Ka‘u, died March 16 at the Ka‘u Hospital. Born in Kaneohe, Oahu, he was an auto mechanic at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and retired as a fire truck mechanic at the U.S. Marine Corp Air Base in Kaneohe. He was a former deputy warden for the Fish & Game Commission, a game hunter and avid fisherman, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a U.S. Navy veteran. Memorial service and celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hokuloa Chapel above the Punalu‘u Beach Park pavillions. Sturdy walking shoes recommended. Warren Wayne Keawenuiokane Kawaha, 64, of Hilo died Monday, April 2, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was formerly employed at Hilo Quality Cleaners, a tour driver/trainer with Jack’s Tours, CDL driver trainer, and was actively involved as a mentor, coach, and referee in the local basketball community. Friends may call at the Keaau High School Gym on Sunday, April 15, from 4-8 p.m., for a 5:30 p.m. funeral service. John Anthony Labrado Sr., 80, of Pahoa died Tuesday, March 13, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Oakland, Calif., he was a security guard. Vern Naubert St. Amand, 57, of Kailua-Kona died March 1 at his residence. Born in Tacoma, Wash., he was a cabinetmaker, finish carpenter and member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A memorial talk will be given 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Kaloko Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
