The 36th annual Horse Show will be held 9 a.m. April 29 at Hawaii Prep’s campus in Waimea. The event features hunter trials, jumping and a play day.
—Jumping ($5 entry fee per class): crossrails equitation; novice hunter over crossrails; hunter over crossrails;
equitation over fences (2 feet to 2 feet, 3 inches); open jumper (2 feet to 2 feet, 3 inches); open hunter (2-6); poles on the ground
equitation.
— Hunter trials ($35): brave hearts (13-15 jumping efforts, about 2 feet, 9 inches; optimum time will be based on 350 meters per minute); soaring jumpers (17-19 jumping efforts, no higher than 3 feet with spreads anticipated; optimum time will be based on 350 meters per minute)
— Play day ($5 per class): Walk/trot/leadline pleasure; pleasure; walk/trot/leadline equitation; equitation; bucket elimination; ribbon race; balance and hold game.
The deadline to enter is April 20. Pepeekeo’s Cathy Darrow of the United States Equestrian Federation will be the judge.
