University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Jamie Hall tied for second place at the 39th Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational on Tuesday in Turlock, Calif.

The Vulcan freshman from Seattle, Wash. turned in a final round 73 to finish the three-round tournament with a 3-under-par 213 (71-69-73) on the par-72 course to finish four strokes behind tournament champion Trevor Blair of Cal State Stanislaus. Blair shot a tournament low 6-under-par 66 in the final round.

“Jamie had a roller-coaster round today,” UHH coach Earl Tamiya said.

UHH’s Corey Kozuma (70-77-74) and Dalen Yamauchi (72-75-74) tied at 221 for 21st place. Vulcan Christian Agosto tied for 91st place (77-83-78—238) while Chris Shimomura had a 245 (80-80-85). Teammate Nick Matsushima played as individual and tied for 77th place (79-75-80—234).

Host Cal State Stanislaus won the tournament with an 845 total. The hosts were followed by Western Washington (868), Chico State (872), Point Loma Nazarene (884), Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay (886), Grand Canyon and St. Martin’s (887), Hawaii Hilo (890), Dixie State (893), UC San Diego (902), Cal State San Bernardino (905), Notre Dame de Namur (908), California Baptist (911), Sonoma State (912), Montana State Billings (918), Holy Names (923), Academy of Art (929), Cal State Dominguez Hills (935) and Northwest Nazarene (937).

Next up for the UHH golf team is the PacWest Championships on Monday and Tuesday at the Waikoloa Kings’ Golf Course.

Following the PacWest meet, the Vulcans will compete in the NCAA Division II Super Regionals, scheduled May 6-9 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Grand Canyon is the host school for the Super Regional at the Wigwam Golf Club.

Men’s tennis

UC Davis defeated UHH 6-1 in an NCAA men’s tennis match on Tuesday in Davis, Calif.

Vulcan Matt Tavares took three sets to win No. 6 singles to prevent the shutout. Results follow:
