Sydney Plunkett scored nine goals Saturday as Kamehameha completed its third straight unbeaten Big Island Interscholastic Federation water polo season with an 18-3 victory over Kealakehe at Kona Community Aquatic Center.
Kiana Krzyska added four goals, giving her a league-best 56 on the season for the Warriors (10-0). Hali’a Nahalea scored twice and Michelle Fratinardo, Paula Imoto and Chloe Martins-Keliihoomalu each found the net once.
Kamehameha, which had already locked down one of the league’s two berths at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association tournament, will play Hilo (5-5) at 3 p.m. Friday at Naeole Pool in the BIIF semifinals. At 4:30 p.m., Waiakea and Hawaii Prep meet in the other semifinal. The championship game is 2 p.m. Saturday at Naeole Pool.
Waiakea (8-2) clinched the second seed Saturday with wins against Hawaii Prep (5-5) and the Vikings. Scores were not available at press time.
Against Kamehameha, Lindsey Caldwell scored twice and Mehana Pilago added a goal for Kealakehe (2-8), which lost to HPA to finish the day.
