Hospice of Hilo invites the community to its 8th annual Celebration of Life on May 5 at Wailoa State Park, under the large pavilion. The entertainment begins at 3 p.m. The traditional “A Walk to Remember” starts at 4 p.m., with registration at 3 p.m. The inspiring “Lights of Remembrance” luminary launch is at 7 p.m. Other activities and ono food will be on hand.

The Brown Ohana will again be performing in honor of their father and brother. They have entertained at the gathering since the first event. The Browns used Hospice services for their father, who passed away at 90 years of age, and brother, Bill Brown, who died of cancer.
Bobo Brown said, “Hospice was very nice to our family and we want to help out … we want to give back.” Bobo and his brother, Boyson, have been together musically for more than 60 years. Danelle signed on with the group a mere 30 years ago.
Vizion 20/20 and Body and Soul will also entertain with their music.
Event chair Allan Onishi invites everyone to “come and celebrate life with us. This is a free community event filled with entertainment, food and — most importantly — friends.”
The 2 1/4-mile Walk To Remember and the Lights of Remembrance ceremony are designed to honor the memory of a loved one. Walk registration forms and luminaries are available now at the Hospice of Hilo office, and at the event.
