In June, Polestar Gardens will celebrate its 15th annual Adventures in Spirit Youth Program. The activity, originally started in California by Polestar founder Michael Gornik, is centered around yoga, meditation, community service, music and outdoor adventure.

“Participants camp, cook, eat, play, serve, sing and pray together while learning many life skills, including concentration, physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, organic gardening, permaculture, carpentry and much more, said Gornik.

Based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda — the Indian sage and author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi — and his universal principles for a “how to live” education, this high-energy program is geared toward high school and college-aged students but is open to all ages.

Participants end their time together at Polestar’s annual family campout at Hookena Beach State Park. For more information, visit www.polestargardens.org or contact Bernadette Sabath at 430-8009 or infopolestar@gmail.com.
