Edric “Treva” Spencer Johnson, 70, of Hilo died April 8 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired concierge at Mauna Lani Resort, past guest activities director at King Kamehemeha’s Kona Beach Hotel, former employee of the Beauty Salon at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, lifelong student of Hawaiian history and former dancer with Halau O Kekuhi. Friends may call from 3-4 p.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo; Memorial service at 4 p.m. Casual attire. Lei are welcome. Survived by sister, Louella Schutte of Waimea; brother, Alan (Darlene) Johnson of Kula, Maui; sisters-in-law, Loretta Spencer of Waipahu, Oahu, Cynthia Spencer of Waimea; hanai brothers, Felward Kahakelii of Pahoa, Paul K. Takamatsu, David L. Becker, both of Honokaa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Matilda “Tilly” G. Wai, 81, of Hilo died Friday, April 20, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she worked at a poultry farm and was a member of Our Lady of The Mount Catholic Church in Honolulu. Private services held. Survived by daughters, Patricia Benitez of Tulare, California, Leandra (Rodrigues M. Sparky) Wai of Waianae, Kerima M. (Brian) Shindo of Hilo, Caron M. ML Allen of Indianapolis, Ind.; sons, Clayton Wai of Dededo, Guam and Emery (Linda) Wai of American Samoa; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
