Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu will hold the latest edition of its Legendary Rummage and Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at 28-1630 Old Mamalahoa Highway.
Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu will hold the latest edition of its Legendary Rummage and Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at 28-1630 Old Mamalahoa Highway.
“If you’ve heard stories about a rummage sale where they still only charge 25 cents for clothing and most household items, it’s true,” said Kathy Antonio, rummage sale coordinator. “We have been doing this for years as a service to our community. Come on by and greet your neighbors and meet new friends.”
Slightly pricier items, locally grown plants and “fabulous local food” also will be sold. The popular community event is coordinated by the church’s Women’s Fellowship. Proceeds support mission projects both locally and abroad.
Hilo Coast United Church of Christ is 15 minutes from Hilo. Take the Akaka Falls/Honomu turnoff (Highway 220) from Highway 19, the Hawaii Belt Road. Drive through downtown Honomu and keep going straight. The church is the building on the left with the blue roof, just past the Honomu Gym.
