Division I boys volleyball

Waiakea 2, Kamehameha-Oahu 1: Sophomore Mamane Namahoe collected 18 kills, and senior Ian Witten had nine kills and five blocks at Blaisdell Arena as Waiakea beat Kamehameha-Oahu 16-25, 25-18, 29-27 in an HHSAA Division I state tournament fifth-place match shortened by time constraints in Honolulu

Senior Donovan Hoohuli added six kills and four blocks, and junior Mano Thomson had 35 assists for BIIF runner-up Waiakea, which ended its season 16-4.

Senior Savili Bartley led Kamehameha-Oahu (14-5) with 14 kills, while junior Cullen Mosher compiled 10 kills and sophomore Kaehu Kaaa had 35 assists.

Division II boys volleyball

Hawaii Prep 3, McKinley 0: Senior Tyler Van Kirk collected 17 kills and seven blocks, and senior Keanu Yamamoto had 13 kills, five blocks and two aces at Blaisdell Arena as BIIF champion Hawaii Prep defeated Oahu Interscholastic Association champion McKinley 25-13, 25-14, 25-23 in an HHSAA Division II third-place game shortened by time constraints.

Junior Jevin Ching added 12 kills, while senior Kainoa Tanoai had 22 assists and 10 blocks for an HPA (13-7) team that won its first-ever BIIF championship this season.

Junior Meng Yuan Wu paced the Tigers (12-4) with 13 kills and two blocks, while junior setter Devin Lee had 24 assists.

Waimea 2, Kohala 1: Senior outside hitter Kailikea Shumacher-Lagundino pounded 16 kills, and senior setter Jonathon Tangalin piled up 27 assists at Blaisdell Arena as the Kauai Interscholastic Federation champion Menehunes defeated Kohala 25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 5-5 in an HHSAA Division II tournament fifth-place match shortened by time constraints.

Junior Mark Kanahele added six kills for Waimea, which ended its season 14-2.

Senior D.J. Wong led Kohala with 14 kills and two blocks, while senior Popo Roxburgh had seven kills and three blocks. Senior setter Kulia Aveiro-Kalaniopio collected 25 assists for the BIIF runner-up Cowboys, who ended their season 13-7.

Water polo

Junior Sydney Plunkett, freshman Pua Wong and senior Paula Imoto each scored two goals as BIIF champion Kamehameha beat rival Waiakea 11-6 to finish fifth at the state tournament at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex in Honolulu.

Seniors Alexia Osburn, Kiana Krzyska and Tori Hiro, junior Michelle Fratinardo and sophomore Chloe Martins-Keliihoomalu added a goal apiece to help Kamehameha (14-1) beat Waiakea for the fourth time this season.

Seniors Rachelle Krahner, Katie Torigoe and Courtney Shinde, and juniors Akemi King and Jillian Hughes each found the net once for the BIIF runner-up Warriors (12-5).
