Uplifting messages and testimony are being shared via video at a new Wednesday evening series at the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church at 162 Kapiolani St. Everyone is invited to the sessions featuring sermons on various topics by Pastor Ivor Myers. The series began this week, with focus on Myers’ own testimony on growing his relationship with Jesus.
The Wednesday meetings start at 6 p.m. with a light, healthful meal, followed by a musical feature. Myer’s sermon is then shown, followed by open discussion and a question-and-answer opportunity.
1n 1995, Myers was part of a four-man hip hop group signed to EMI Records. In that same year, he had an encounter with the word of God, walked away from the industry and is now pastoring the Templeton Hills Seventh-day Adventist church in Templeton, Calif., where he, his wife and four children live.
“As speaker/director of Power of the Lamb Ministries, Ivor and his wife, Atonte, have dedicated themselves to the spreading of the Gospel. Power of the Lamb Ministries seeks to uplift Christ as the only hope of salvation, and to connect people with the power of the Lamb to become new creatures in Christ,” said spokeswoman Liz Toledo, of the Hilo church. “Ivor and Atonte co-host the 3ABN program Battles of Faith. As a result of their ministry, several other ministries are having a profound effect on many people.
“The series of video sermons featuring Pastor Myers and the followup discussions will provide a wonderful opportunity to grow and enrich your Christian walk. All are invited and welcome to share,” said Toledo.
