Volleyball camps

Southside Junior Volleyball Club will sponsor a high school and elementary-middle school volleyball camp from June 8-11. Guy Enriques, who has 26 years of camp coaching experience, will be the director of instruction and drills.

The camp for grades 2-8 will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To help improve instruction and quality of practice, upper level high school players will be available to maximize repetitions, instruction and games.

The for grades 9-12 will have the option of free overnight stays and prepaid meals. Enriques will emphasize personal development by using individual tracking strategies that provide critical feedback to speed the improvement process.

Free football camp

The Hawaii Football Club will host a free coaches clinic, featuring Oahu’s Ke Kula Kaiapuni O Anuenue coaching staff, at 6 p.m. June 1 at 27A Lono St. in Hilo. Youth and high school coaches are encouraged to attend.

There will also be football clinics conducted in the Hawaiian language only for ages 7-13 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 2 at Bayfront Field No. 3, and for ages 14-17 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. the same day.

There is no cost and registration is one hour before the clinic.

Meanwhile, a coaching clinic, featuring the Kahuku High staff, will be held July 13, and a players clinic will be held July 14.
