The Cooper Center Council and the Volcano Community Association invite the community to share in its annual patriotic celebration on Wednesday, July 4.

Every year, this small-town extravaganza includes a unique parade, multifaceted craft fair, hours of free entertainment, a wide range of food vendors, games and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the sponsoring nonprofits and their community service projects and programs.

The hub of the celebration is at the Cooper Community Center on Wright Road in Volcano Village. The parade starts at 9 a.m. from the Volcano Post Office and ends at the community center.

“The Volcano Fourth of July celebration is a wholesome event for the whole family,” said spokeswoman Mililani Hughes. “This drug- and alcohol-free event is free.”

Individuals and groups from all over the island are invited to participate in the fun Volcano tradition. To sign up to be in the parade, please contact Mary Brewer at 985-9595 or Jim Mitchell at (253) 441-0863 or via email at jmitchell159@msn.com.

Entertainers should contact Kathy Baybayan at 982-7387 or 640-1449. Food vendors should call Linda Ugalde at 985-9508 or 936-9705. Food vendors must have an official state Department of Health permit. Crafters should contact Hughes at 968-6696 or via email at mililani2@gmail.com.
