Bon Dance 101 — a special class for keiki age 8 and their parents or grandparents — will be offered by Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin on Tuesday, June 26, starting at 5 p.m.

Bon Dance 101 — a special class for keiki age 8 and their parents or grandparents — will be offered by Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin on Tuesday, June 26, starting at 5 p.m.

The class will be taught by Sakae Kaya, Jane Miyasaki and others. This special workshop is open to the public. All children must be accompanied by an adult on the dance floor. There will be a short storytelling of “Why O-Bon?” by the Rev. Yuika Hasebe followed by the learning of some bon dances.

Registration is required. To sign up, please call the temple office at 961-6677. Following Bon Dance 101, the public is invited to attend the mission’s regular bon dance practice at 7 p.m. Visit www.hilobetsuin.org.
