Frutos to offer photo tours for Volcano Art Center

Professional photographer Robert Frutos will lead two new monthly photo tours on “Capturing Pele with your Camera and Creativity” for the Volcano Art Center starting in June.

Founder of the Light of Aloha Photography Center, Frutos “is an accomplished and highly published photographer, traveler and seeker of inspiration who has led countless workshops and tours around Hawaii,” said a VAC spokesman.

Tours begin at the VAC Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village and journey through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Learn valuable tips and advice for capturing the beauty of Volcano through the lens of your camera. Park admission is included in the cost of the tour.

A two-hour tour will be held the second Tuesday of the month, beginning June 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $65, $50 for VAC members and kamaaina. A four-hour tour on the fourth Tuesday of the month starts June 26. Cost is $125/$95. Sign up at www.volcanoartcenter.org, 967-8222 or julie@volcanoartcenter.org.
