The Healthy Lunchtime Challenge is sponsored by the White House’s Let’s Move! campaign, Epicurious, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“Kula strawberries, Kona oranges, luscious Manoa lettuce. These are just some of the tasty fruits and veggies that can be featured in a lunch that gives Mrs. Obama a taste of the islands,” said Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono.
“The Healthy Lunchtime Challenge is a great way for us to see who the next Roy Yamaguchi or Alan Wong will be!”
Keiki must be between the ages of 8 and 12 to participate. Submissions will be accepted via email and traditional mail through June 17. To learn more and to enter the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge, please visit http://www.letsmove.gov/kids-state-dinner.
