The Hawaii Council of the Hawaiian Civic Clubs will present “This Show Won’t Dragg — On,” a masquerade/female impersonation revue featuring Diva Brandy Lee from LeBizarre and friends, at 7 p.m. Friday, July 13, at the Sheraton Keauhou Resort & Spa.

Local actor and director Clay Callaway will emcee. The event will feature a silent auction, masquerade masks and mardi gras beads.

Everyone is invited to come dressed in a favorite masquerade costume. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and can be purchased in Kona at the Mask Bar and Grill, Music Exchange, Oshima Surf Shop, Sheraton Keauhou, and from any Hawaiian civic club member. Or, call 885-7810 for more information.

The event is a fundraiser for the civic clubs to support scholarship program, council activities and to defer costs associated with the association’s upcoming convention in Washington, D.C.

The Hawaii Council consists of 10 clubs on the Big Island with approximately 400 members under the umbrella of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs. The clubs were organized to actively promote the civic, economic, social, health, and moral welfare of communities on the island with particular emphasis on the activities of those agencies and organizations responsible for the improvement of the conditions of the Native Hawaiian people.
