Hilo Theatre Organ Society and The Palace Theater are teaming up once again to present silent movies with live pipe organ accompaniment.

Tonight at 7 p.m. the two organizations will present “Silent Comedy Theatre,” an evening of classic Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy movies.

The films will be accompanied by Tommy Stark, who will play the Palace’s vintage pipe organ as the movies unfold.

Four movies will be shown, two starring Chaplin and two starring Laurel and Hardy.

Stark has been performing since he was only 5 years old. He played at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for many years and has toured all over the country. He currently plays for Holland America cruises to Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii. Stark has played the organ at the Palace many times.

“Silent Comedy Theatre” is a fundraiser for both non-profit organizations.

Tickets are $10 for general admission in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets are $8 for Organ Society members, Palace “Stars” and keiki 12 and under. Tickets are on sale at the Palace box office from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
