Charles “Butch” G. Hanohano, 68, of Honokaa died June 25 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Hawaii County Police officer, Vietnam veteran and member of SHOPO union, Hamakua Country Club, Hamakua Young Farmers, Hamakua Lions Club, an assistant football coach at Honokaa High School and paddled for Kaioni and Lanikai Canoe Clubs.
