A free keiki volleyball clinic, for ages 8 to 18, will be held Saturday at the Hilo High School Gym.

Chandler-Gilbert Community College of Arizona coaches Vee and Brian Hiapo will be featured in the clinic, sharing their volleyball knowledge with Big Island athletes. Advanced volleyball techniques, offensive and defensive strategies, and college recruiting will be taught and discussed in the clinic.

The first session, from 8 to 10 a.m., is for players ages 8 to 12; the second session, from 10 a.m. to noon, is for ages 14 to 18.

“Coaches Vee and Brian began their volleyball training in Hawaii and attributes their success to their island roots and former mentors,” High High coach Olino Kotaki said.
