Hilo Habitat for Humanity will be hosting its next free home maintenance class on Saturday, July 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hilo Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 700 Manono St., Suite 102. The 1,600-square-foot warehouse is one block west of Big Island Candies.
This month’s class on “Yard Care Tools,” sponsored by Hawaii Island United Way, will be instructed by James Lucas of J & J Lucas Repair Shop. The Hilo Habitat ReStore and its monthly classes are open to the public.
Hilo Habitat is happy to be working with many of the contractors currently doing renovations at Hawaii Community College, said store manager Rex Lauer.
“Charged with recycling upwards of 75 percent of the materials removed from the sites, these contractors are helping keep our Habitat ReStore stocked with many items that are all re-useable such as sink, toilets, electrical fixtures, lumber, desks, air conditioners to name a few,” Lauer said.
Remodeling? Buying new furniture or appliances? As always, the Hilo Habitat ReStore accepts donations any time during its store hours and is open to the public. All proceeds go to the building of homes in our community. Please call if you have questions about how and what you can donate. All donations are tax-deductible. The ReStore hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: 935-6677. Visit www.hilohabitat.org.
