Joseph “Uncle Joe” Papalimu, 77, of Hilo died July 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired proprietor of Lagoon Liquors and member of the Screen Actors Guild. He was a co-founder of Aged Hawaiians & Na Opio Panaewa, PER of Hilo Elks Lodge No. 759 and served in the Marines. He was also a member of many local organizations and an avid golfer with Po’ina Poaha Golf Club.
