Simeona “Onang” Gajeton Cabralda, 90, of Kalaoa, Papaikou, formerly of Wahiawa, Oahu, died June 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, she was a retired packer for Del Monte cannery. Visitation 10:30 a.m.-noon Monday, July 23, at Mililani Memorial Park Makai Chapel, Oahu. Funeral service at noon. Burial to follow. Survived by son, James (Fely) Cabralda Sr. of Wahiawa, Oahu; daughter, Naty (Wally Jr.) Ishibashi of Kalaoa, Papaikou, and Valerie (Bill) Albright of Washington; sisters-in-law, Pacita Cabralda of New Jersey and Flora Bagarino of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence “Chic” Carvalho, 79, of Hilo died July 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paauilo, he was a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, tour driver, taxi driver and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Heritage Christian Fellowship and Operating Engineers Local 3. Visitation 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 21 at Heritage Christian Fellowship Church in Hilo. Memorial service at noon. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Rosamellia Carvalho of Hilo; daughter, Clarice L. Hatsume Hirano, 90, of Hilo died July 4 at home. Born in Kapapala, Ka‘u, she was a retired dental assistant and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan and Buddhist Women’s Association. Services held. No koden (monetary gifts) or flowers. Survived by sons, Ronald N. (Charlene Mishima) Hirano of Pearl City, Oahu, and Bruce M. Hirano of Hilo; daughters, Norma H. Martha Ishizaki Martin, 94, of Kailua-Kona died July 3 at home. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired executive secretary for the superintendent of schools and school board and member of the Catholic Church. Survived by daughter, Carol Davis of Kailua-Kona; brother, Joseph (Myra) Ignacio of Hilo; sisters, Eleanor Miguel of Waimea and Emogene Pacheco of Salt Lake, Oahu; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Jessie Taylor, 52, of Kailua-Kona died July 12 near Hawi. Born in California, he worked and led tours at Kona Brew Pub, was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, a cyclist and member of Crossfit gym.
