Export University is hosting its annual export training program in Kona on Aug. 29-31 at NELHA’s Hawaii Gateway Energy Center.
Last year’s 68 participants have had exports totaling $699,610 since participating in the training program.
Through funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, Export University 101 will be offered along with a new training, Export University 201: a one-day course on best utilizing international social media and e-commerce, which has been met with overwhelming positive reviews, said project director Lesley Harvey.
Harvey encourages all businesses to attend Export University, from those that already have successfully exported to those that have no international business experience.
“We created the program materials based on industry standards but really focused in on the Hawaii markets. Hawaii is very unique, geographically and the issues that it faces, the close neighbors it has to Asia, and we wanted to highlight some of those factors,” said Harvey.
The cost for the training program is affordable for companies of all sizes. Export University 101 is $100 for a two-day session from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 29-30, and EU 201 costs $25 for a 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. session on Friday, Aug. 31. For companies that attend both 101 and 201, participants can attend the course for $110.
Space is limited. To sign up for the training sessions, please contact Harvey at 808-457-7100 or email her at lharvey@hawaiiexportsupport.com.
