Sumie Wada Kon, 88, of Hilo died July 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hana, Maui, she was a retired teacher at McKinley High School on Oahu. Private services to be held followed with burial at Homelani Memorial Park Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by son, Robert Kon of Hilo; daughter, Barbara Kon of Hilo; brother, Mamoru (Chic) Wada; one grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home.
Richard Thomas Webb, 94, of Hilo died July 29 at his home. Born in Toledo, Ohio, he graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in chemical engineering, served in the U.S. Army as a captain, worked as an engineer for C.
