William “Willz” Pelekane Konanui Jr., 37, of Pahoa died July 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a pest control worker at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and was a member of the All Inu Volleyball Team. Visitation 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 5 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Christine Alexis Rabena Laeda, 20, of Mountain View died July 21 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, she was a student at Oregon State University, worked at Manono Mini Mart and played basketball for Keaau and Hilo high schools, Big Island All-Stars, Papaikou Cougars, Hilo Women’s League and Showtime team. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday at Keaau High gym. Service at 7 p.m. All-night vigil to follow at family home in Mountain View. Visitation again 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the school gym. Felipe Cardines Mejia, 82, of Green Sands subdivision died July 30 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in the Philippines, he was a retired laborer and foreman for Mac Farms of Hawaii.
