Why is California so broke? Perhaps the following statistics will shed some light on their plight.
Forty percent of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal aliens working without a green card.
Ninety-five percent of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
Seventy-five percent of people on the most-wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
Over two-thirds of all births in L.A. County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
Nearly 35 percent of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
Over 300,000 illegal aliens in L.A. County are living in garages.
The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
Nearly 60 percent of all occupants of Housing and Urban Development properties are illegal.
Twenty-one radio stations in L.A. are Spanish-speaking.
In L.A. County, 5.1 million people speak English and 4.9 million speak Spanish.
All 10 of the above statements are from the Los Angeles Times.
This is only one state. Less than 2 percent of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29 percent are on welfare.
Over 70 percent of the United States’ annual population growth (and over 90 percent of California, Florida and New York) results from immigration.
Twenty-nine percent of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.
And to top it all off, the Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) crowd wants them all to become VOTERS.
That would certainly put a blight on our electoral process. Be very careful, caring and cautious who you vote for. In the words of Ruth Bell Graham, quote: “No one is useless: They can always serve as a bad example.” May God help us in these trying times.

Enough hate
I was deeply saddened by the recent murder of Sikhs at their place of worship in Oak Creek, Wis. It highlighted the ignorance and prejudice that plagues our country — a country which seeks to be a model of tolerance and justice around the world.
Even in our idyllic town, examples of hate speech targeting a people’s religion and culture can be found. Most days when I drive by Lincoln Park in downtown Hilo, a disturbed man has set up massive signage blaspheming Islam and Muslim people. I will spare the reader repetition of the horrible statements on display to passing traffic and children at the playground.
A casual Google search revealed a link to this man’s Facebook profile, which features a photo of him holding a revolver in one hand, a Bible in the other. I am aware that hate speech is generally protected under the First Amendment, but that does not preclude the community from taking a stand against displays of obscenity at this neighborhood park.
