Gov. Neil Abercrombie has ordered that all national and Hawaii flags at state offices and agencies as well as the Hawaii National Guard are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday in memory of astronaut Neil Armstrong, as directed by President Barack Obama.
“Neil Armstrong’s legacy will endure as an inspiring example of what a nation can achieve when united in a single purpose,” Abercrombie said. “Through iconic words and actions, Mr. Armstrong demonstrated that the greatest of human achievements are so often the culmination of the many small steps of dedicated individuals.”
