Yuriko Tanoue, 84, of Hilo died July 16 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kapoho, she was a retired seamstress for the former Kamehameha Garment Factory, housekeeper for the former Sheraton Waiakea Village, member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Upper Kaumana Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers or koden. Survived by son, Wesley Tanoue of Hilo; daughter, Alison (Dr. George) Geanon of Pewaukee, Wis.; brothers, Ryoichi (Sachi) Soga and Mamoru (Setsuko) Soga, both of Honolulu; sister-in-law, Elaine Soga of Hilo; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris Alpha White, 95, of Ocean View died Aug. 28 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Salinas, Calif., she was a Jehovah Witness and a homemaker who came to Hawaii in 2000 and settled in Ocean View.
